Introduction to the community!~ IS ORANGE the new BLACK?

GREETINGS!

International Global family...

Welcome to this Blog which intends to serve all shades of Brown, Orange, Pink, Red, Purple even and all shades of people, especially for people who identify themselves as "Mixed race" persons, from all four corners of the globe. It is my opinion, and possibly even a fact that in this modern day, with the advent of modern transportation, ease of travel and connectivity to different cultures, across the globe, really hard to find someone who isn't actually mixed race or mixed cultured to some extent if not altogether. Therefore to provide a connecting platform, a common space and effectively provide an organisation for all Mixed Race persons in the world, I feel is very important.

Black, White, Asian persons, and the various nations all have their associations, organisations to represent them, still the mixed race persons in this world often fall into the cracks between. Who will represent our collective issues if we don't organise our own Association to represent those who don't fit into any of the other brackets.

Here in Jamaica, a truly multi-cultural nation, we share the vision, "Out of many we are One". But are we really in fact, one people. Do we really operate in unity as one, one heart, one aim, one destiny like we claim to. Or are we still far to often caught up in conflicts over petty differences and power struggles?
As Emperor Haile Selassie said in his speech to the United Nations in 1963, and Bob Marley repeated in his song entitled "War" until the colour of a man's skin is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes, there will be war!

Humans of all races, all colours, religions, classes on earth share the same needs, wants, requirements. We all need breathe to survive to live, to eat, to drink clean water, we all have the same basic requirements to survive, to thrive and to stay alive.
So we really have much more in common than we often care to realise. We are much more connected than we may initially feel based on outer appearances, differences in behavior and opinions.

In fact the world has evolved into a much less divided place than it once was, due to the increased connectivity facilitated by modern technology, the internet, communications devices, transport and travel makes it so much easier to connect to persons across the globe, bridging gaps in time zones, cultures and translating communications, overcoming language barriers.

This space is to provide a platform for us to connect, to unite and to talk about issues that are common to us all, for THE GREATER GOOD!

To provide support, advice, encouragement to those who feel isolated, or culturally or socially alienated.

TO ask questions and provide a platform and a forum for open minded discussion and to facilitate a support network.

Are we all really one family?

and if so, Am I my Brothers/Sisters Keeper?

AND then Is ORANGE really the new Black?

Reflection on my own Colour Therapy (Brown)

I think I no longer identify myself as Brown only Grey...As I slip into the grey areas between buildings, slabs of concrete and pavement sto...
